The 2012 Winter Transfer Window

The winter transfer window closed on Monday January 30, 2012 and all the UAE professional clubs have completed their contracts during that period and have released the international players who did not meet the required performance in accordance with the regulations of the International Federation of Association Football “FIFA” in an attempt to develop the standard of the UAE professional teams performance and to enrich the football experience in the region.


The 2012 winter transfer window saw the first of its kind on loan transfer of the UAE Al Wahda’s central defender Hamdan Al Kamali to the French side Olympique Lyonnais till the end of the season with the option of permanently moving as a professional player for the top European team by the end of the loaning period as officially declared by the Al Wahda Sports and Cultural Club Management.
