Baniyas Club was established and publicized by a decision from the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports in 1982. The club is located in Baniyas area in Abu Dhabi, and the club’s mission aims at motivating the youth and directing their interests toward sporting and cultural activities. The founders’ vision of Baniyas Club stresses the importance that the club would become a symbol of excellence and pioneering in various sports, cultural, and social activities and to advance sports development in accordance with the vision and perspective planned by the wise leadership.

The team started on the right foot by establishing a base of juniors and youth who first played in the juniors and youth competitions organized by the Football association until they became stronger and ready to participate in the second division tournament at that time. The team was able to achieve its dream by moving up for the first time to the first division in season 1987-1988.  The team continued to achieve its successes, and in the fifth season of its moving up in 1991-1992, it succeeded in winning the President’s Cup as the biggest achievement in the history of the club so far.

Since its inception and until two seasons ago, the team was swinging up and down between the first and second divisions until it was able to ascend to the Etisalat Pro League at the beginning of the sports season 2009-2010 after winning the championship of the first division tournament. The team presented during that season an outstanding performance which qualified it to take on the fourth position. The team continued its successful march in the Pro League, and in season 2010-2011 it presented a better performance than the previous ones and competed strongly to win the tournament championship.

-President’s Cup in 1992.

-Champion of the Second Division Tournament for the seasons 1994-1995, 1997-1998, 2004-2005, and 2008-2009.

-The Baniyas Team played in the Asian Cup Winners Cup in 1994 and 1997.
