Ittihad Kalba Club was established in Kalba city on the east coast in 1972 after the merger of Al Shaab, Al Shabab, Al-Orouba and Gulf Youth clubs into one club named Ittihad Kalba the sole representative of athletes in the city of Kalba.

The club’s football team continued to play in the second division tournament until it was able to ascend to the first division tournament for the first time in season 1979-1980. During the past three decades, the team was moving up and down from and to the first division. Among the most prominent achievements of the team is winning the second division tournament in the two seasons 1995-1996 and 1998-1999.  The team also won the first division tournament championship in season 2009-2010 and qualified for the first time to the Professional League to play in season 2010-2011. Ittihad Kalba relegated to the first division in season 2011-2012, and won its title, which allowed them to come back to the Pro League in season 2012-2013.
