Vieira: I thank the players for good performance; Steven: the atmosphere of the match affected the two teams

Al Nasr's Italian assistant coach Steven said that his team maintained a deserved result following a 1-0 victory over their counterpart Bani Yas in the postponed match played yesterday at Al Nahyan Stadium in Abu Dhabi. He pointed out saying that the sad atmosphere due to the death of Diyab Awana affected the performance of the two teams. Steven, who attended the press conference on behalf of countryman Walter Zinga, said if it was not for the difficult conditions, Bani Yas would have played better because it is a good and a strong team. Asked about the secret behind Zinga's sitting on the stands Steven said:" The match referee asked Zinga to change his jersey as it was close in color to his team's players. Zinga did not object because he already knows it was not a day for any kind of discussion but a day for all to respect Diyab Awana's soul. The coach preferred not to attend the press conference and talk about his team's win as a respect for the deceased player".

On the other hand Bani Yas's Brazilian coach Vieira disclosed his anger of both players Saqr Idris and Fareed Ismail who did not participate in the training conducted in the morning of the same day of the match indicating that seriousness in football is the main cause that lead to success.

"The player is the only one who imposes his participation with the lineup of the team through hard work and determination. We did not train for three days and this affected our performance and Al Nasr were lucky to win this match. I will watch the penalty awarded by the referee to Al Nasr on video tape to see whether it was faire or not". "Bani Yas's technical standard improves from one game to another. We played with some key players missing while Al Nasr played with four professionals. I thank my players for their hard work in the match", said Vieira.
