UAE Olympic team beat Sri Lanka 3-0

 

The UAE U-23 Olympic Football Team repeated their victory over their counterparts Sri Lanka beating them 3-0 in their London 2012 Olympic second round qualifiers match played tonight at Bani Yas ground in Al Shamkha area. The two teams played both games at the same venue according to the agreement signed between the UAE FA and their Sri Lankan counterparts with the former paying full expenses for the visitors including tickets and accommodation. The hosts won the first leg encounter 7-1 to move into the next stage in which 24 teams will take part and its games will be played on June 19 and 23 to determine the 12 squads that compete in the third phase.

The UAE team scored their three goals before the break with Rashid Essa opening the score in the 19th minute. Ahmad Khalil made it 2-0 nine minutes later before netting the third goal in the 41st minute to end the game with an easy 3-0 win.
