UAE National Team face South Korea in a last chance match
The UAE National Football Team are set to face their counterparts South Korea tomorrow evening at 4:45pm at Rashid Stadium in Al Ahli Club in the Asian qualifiers for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. It is an important game for both squads as the hosts are yet to open their account and a win, and nothing else, will bring back hope to them to compete for one of the group berths and qualify to the final stage. By the same token, the Korean National Team would also like to win to secure their position on top of the group and then qualify to the final stage of the Asian qualifiers for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
The Koreans are staying on top of the Asian second group with 7 points from three matches after beating Lebanon and UAE, and drawing with Kuwait while the UAE Team are sitting at the bottom of the table without points following their loss to all group teams Kuwait, Lebanon and South Korea.
The UAE Team played last month a strong game against the Koreans in the capital, Seoul (first leg match), and lost 1-2. They played with high morals after Dr. Abdullah Misfer, who led the team, was appointed as a coach, succeeding Slovenian Katanec, who was sacked after losing to Lebanon in the world Cup qualifiers.
The UAE Team need to win tomorrow, and in the last two matches in Group "B" as well against Kuwait and Lebanon, to ensure at least second place in the group, which will help them to qualify to the Asian final stage.
