UAE Football Team endeavor to overcome Lebanon to compensate first round loss to Kuwait

The UAE Senior Football Team are set to play their second game in the third stage of the Asian qualifiers to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil (second group) when they take on their hosts Lebanon National team on Tuesday September 6th on the Sports City pitch in Beirut. The game is of great importance to the visiting squad after they lost their first round tie 2/3 to Kuwait last Friday at Al Qattara Stadium.

The UAE Slovenian coach Katanec and his players will endeavor tomorrow to come back home with three valuable points so as to be more self confident and come back to compete for securing a berth that would help and lead them to qualify to the 2014 finals in Brazil.

The UAE delegation has left for Beirut in less than 24 hours after the match against Kuwait headed by HE Mohammad Khalfan Al Rumaithi Chairman of the UAE Football Association. The team conducted yesterday their first training session on the Sports City Stadium in Beirut to get ready for this tomorrow's important match.

 The Chairman of the UAE Football Association, who attended yesterday the training session called on the players to forget the last match against Kuwait and open a new page in order to earn the three points and revive hopes to qualify for the fourth phase of the qualifiers. Th players promised to demonstrate an honorable performance that lead them to win and make the dreams of the UAE fans come true.

By the same token, the game is also of great importance to the Lebanese team who lost their opening match in Group "B" to South Korea 6-0 in Seoul and their German coach Theo Bokair is looking for a win to compensate that big loss specially his team are playing at home in front of their spectators and include some professionals playing in Germany and China.

The coach Katanec may not make big changes to his lineup who faced Kuwait except defender Hamdan Al Kamaly who underwent a successful surgical operation last Monday at Al Noor Hospital in Al Ain after suffering in UAE- Kuwait match a broken bone in his face from the right side and the coach summoned Faris Juma'a Al Ain's defender to replace him.

The UAE National Team coach Katanec is expected to start the game with Majid Nasser as goalkeeper, Khalid Sabeel, Musalam Fayez, Walid Abbas, Yousuf Jaber in defense line, Amer Mubarak, Amer Abdul Rahman, Subait Khatir and Ismail Al Hammadi in midfield and Ahmad Khalil along with Mohammad Al Shehhy spearheading the offensive line along with Salim Saleh and Ahmad Juma'a.
