Two wins, four draws and 14 goals in week 14

Seven teams of the Etisalat Pro-League have preserved their previous positions after playing their matches in week 14 while the other five squads have exchanged their places. Al Jazira, Bani Yas, Al Wahda, Dubai and Kalba ended their games with a draw adding one point to their balance but still retained their spots in the competition's ladder along with Al Dhafra and Al Ain who remained in their 10th and 11th spots after losing to Al Shabab and Sharjah respectively. Both home teams Al Ahli and Al Wahda were held to a 2-2 draw in their encounters against Kalba and Al Jazira respectively, Dubai held hosts Al Nasr to a 1-1 tie and Bani Yas who also played at their pitch lost two valuable points when they ended their match against visitors Al Wasl with a goalless draw. Two games ended with positive results when the home team Sharjah added to the owes of the visiting squad Al Ain beating them 2-1 and Al Shabab came from the Western Region with three points following their win over Al Dhafra with a solitary goal.

The last week was cractarized by its little number of goals which amounted to only 14 in six matches and it was the lowest round in terms of goals since the start of the Etisalat Pro-League Competition. 'Round 8' still considered the highest as 30 goals were netted by the competing teams. Nine of the 14 goals were scored by the expatriate players while the locals netted only five through Mohammed Al Shehhy and Ismaeil Matar of Al Wahda, Ismail Al Hammadi of Al Ahli, Mohammad Malallah of Kalba and Ali Mohammad of Dubai-based Al Shabab.

Al Jazira are still on top of the standings with 36 points with a difference of seven points ahead of Bani Yas who are sitting in second position with 29 points. The leaders remain the only team who did not lose even a single match since the start of the competition. They won in 11 games and drew only three times, two of them came against Al Wahda 0-0 and 2-2 and against Al Ahli 2-2. Moreover, Al Jazira have the advantage of being the best team in both offence and defense lines. They netted 36 and conceded 11 goals while Al Ain and Al Dhafra scored the least number of goals that come to 16 each. Kalba who are staying at the bottom of the table with only 8 points conceded 37 goals which classify them as the weakest defense, but they scored 23 goals.

Al Jazira and their traditional counterparts Al Wahda demonstrated a neat display and their match could be classified as the best one since the kick off of the league competition. Their game was attended by the biggest number of spectators so far. The leaders' loss of two valuable points in their Friday's tie, shed light on Bani Yas and Al Wasl's game which was played the following day. The home team Bani Yas were encouraged by their sole competitors' draw the day before and it was a golden opportunity for them to beat the visiting squad Al Wasl, snatch three points which could have reduced the difference to only five points. In spite of facing Al Wasl with high morals, but the second- placed team, Bani Yas, failed to make it after squandering all the chances that came their way.

Al Shabab were the only team who gained a lot in the last round as they moved two steps ahead after emerging winners in their game against Al Dhafra. But Al Ahli, Al Wasl, Sharjah and Al Nasr slipped one step downwards. They are in the 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th positions with 23, 22, 21, 21 and 20 points respectively.

On the other hand Bani Yas's striker Andre Sangahoor from Senegal is still sitting on top of the scorers' ladder with 13 goals.
