The Etisalat Pro-League resumes tomorrow

After a 12-day break due to international commitments, the Etisalat Pro-League is set to resume tomorrow, Friday October 15. Many teams will be back to full strength after missing key players during last week's first round of the Etisalat Cup due to their being on national duties with the Senior, Olympic and U-19 teams.

Two Dubai-based teams, Al Ahli and Dubai, kick off Round Six when they meet at Al Ahli's stadium on Friday at 5:10pm. The hosts snatched three valuable points when they overcame Al Ain 2-1 in Round Five to raise their tally to eight points putting them in 7th position. This was a valuable win for Al Ahli after a poor start to the season when they lost their opener 0-2 to Al Dhafra and recorded two draws to Kalba and Al Jazira. Dubai remain at the bottom of the table with no points after losing all of their first five games, so will be fighting hard to start their scoring for the season.

Al Nasr travel to Abu Dhabi to take on Al Wahda at Al Nahyan Stadium in a tough encounter on Friday evening, which kicks off at 8pm. Al Nasr's caretaker coach Eid Baroot will make his debut with the visiting team after they sacked their coach Helios dos Anjos two days ago following three losses and two wins. The Club is in 10th position with six points whilst their rivals and defending champions Al Wahda are in the 5th place with eight points. The home team will have their Senior and Olympic National team players back, however they are going to miss some key players due to injury.

The competition continues on Saturday, October 16 with two interesting matches. Al Dhafra, who moved to 9th place with six points following their 3-1 win over Kalba in Round 5, will face a big challenge at home when they face second placed Al Jazira who have 11 points at 5:15pm. Whilst in the other match of the day, Bani Yas and Al Ain will be looking to compensate for their last round losses in their match at Al Shahama ground at 8pm. Al Ain lost their last game 2-1 to Al Ahli while hosts Bani Yas suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of Al Jazira 0-4. Bani Yas and Al Ain are only three and four points respectively from leader's Al Wasl, but a defeat this weekend might put the loser a long way from the top if Al Wasl beat Kalba to raise their tally to 15 points.

In the third day of matches on Sunday, October 17, current leaders Al Wasl will take on 11th placed Kalba in Dubai, kick off at 5:10. This will be followed by Sharjah vs Al Shabab at Sharjah's home ground at 8pm.
