The Etisalat Cup breaks for 4 weeks after tomorrow’s games
The matches of stage 6 of the Etisalat Cup Competition will be concluded tomorrow Friday December 3 with three matches when Sharjah host Al Shabab in the first game of the concluding day, kick off at 4:50pm. Bani Yas will travel to the Western region to tackle it out against hosts Al Dhafra whereas the two-city-teams Al Ahli and Al Wasl meet at the former's pitch at 8pm in the concluding encounter of the day. The Etisalat Cup Competition matches will stop for almost four weeks after round 6 is over and the teams are likely to come back and restart their struggle in the 7th week in December 30th and 31st.
Sharjah are still staying at the bottom of group "B" with only three points after drawing against Al Wasl and Kalba with a 0-0 results and against Al Shabab 1-1 in the last stage and they lost twice to AL Ahli 5-2 and to Al Jazira 1-3. The visiting team, Al Shabab, are classified in the 2nd place with one point behind leaders Al Wasl who are staying on the top of the standings of group "B" after collecting nine points and they hope to continue their successful march. Both teams, Sharjah and Al Shabab, will miss some of their key players who are participating with the UAE Senior Football Squad in the GCC tournament in Yemen.
Bani Yas team, who are to play the second match of the day against hosts Al Dhafra, will also meet their competitors without a number of their key stars for the fourth successive match. They have three players, Fahad Fraish, Yousuf Jabir and Sultan Al Ghafri who are participating with the UAE Senior National Squad in the ongoing GCC Tournament in Yemen. But at the same time they will have back their five Olympic team players, Amir Abdul Rahman, Diyab Awana, Ahmad Ali, Mohammed Fawzi and Haboosh Saleh who participated recently in winning the silver medal in the Asian games in China along with Fawzi Basheir who joined the team's trainings after his Omani National team were eliminated from the GCC Tournament. The game is due to kick off at 4:55pm. Bani Yas lost their last two games to Dubai and Al Dhafra 0 -2 and 1-2 in the 4th and 5th stages respectively. These two defeats made them lose their leadership of group "A" and slip to the 3rd place with seven points. Al Dhafra are taking the 6th position after collecting six points from a single victory against Bani Yas with a 2-1 result and three draws to Dubai 2-2, Al Nasr 1-1 and Al Wahda 1-1.
This stage will be concluded with Al Ahli-Al Wasl match which is due to start at 8pm at Rashid stadium. The hosts have started their march in this competition with a 1-1 draw to Kalba and an only 5-2 win against Sharjah before they come to lose their last three games to Al Jazira 1-3, Al Shabab 0-1 and Al Wasl 0-3 to collect only four points that see them in the 5th place in group "B" while their opponents have 9 points that put them on the top of table of their group.
