Sheikh Hazza Bin Zayed receives Olympic Football Team
Sheikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Adviser of the National Security Council and Honorary President of the UAE Football Association received the UAE Olympic mission upon their arrival from China this afternoon at 4pm, November 27th at the Ameri Airport. The Olympic squad have bagged the silver medal in the 16th Asian Games that concluded today in Guangzhou city in China after being beaten by favorites Japan with a solitary goal in the final match played on last Thursday November 25rd. Sheikh Ahmad Bin Nasir Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Deputy Chairman of Al Wahda Club, Sheikh Abdullah Bin Mohammed Bin Khalid Al Nahyan Member of Al Ain Honorary board, His Excellency Abdul Rahman Al Owais Minister of Sports and Youth, Yousuf Al Sarkal first chairman of the Olympic committee, Mohammad Khalfan Al Rumaithi, President of the UAE Football Association, Ibrahim Abdul Malik, Secretary General of the General Authority for Youth and Sports Welfare along with other dignitaries were present at the receptional ceremony.
Sheikh Hazza Bin Zayed addressed the players saying:" We believe that you did not lose the gold medal, but what you have achieved is the real success. We are proud of you as heroes after coming back home with a historical achievement for the UAE football as this happens for the first time in our participations march at the continental level. We also hail the big efforts which have been done by your coach Mehdi Ali who have been guiding this team for a long time". Sheikh Hazza added:" You represent the real future of the UAE football and we hope that you will continue your successful march and add more achievements to your record".
