Bani Yas hold Al Shabab to a 1-1 draw

Al Shabab and Bani Yas were tied to a 1-1 draw in the Etisalat Pro League fifth round match played this evening at Maktoum Bin Rashid Stadium in Al Shabab Club. The hosts raised their balance to 8 points taking third position while Bani Yas are staying in 7th spot with only five points. Both teams demonstrated a poor performance in the first session after failing to produce a convincing display and creating dangerous attacks to end this half with a goalless draw. Bani Yas coach Bonamego was compelled to make an early substitution when he pulled out defender Ali Masari due to injury and fielded in Nawaf Mubarak.

 Al Shabab played this game without Mohammad Ahmed who is currently joining the UAE Olympic warm up camp in Al Ain, in addition to Waleed Abbass due to suspension while Bani Yas missed the efforts of five of their key players including Olympic team's stars Amer Abdul Rahman, Saleh Haboosh, Mohammad Fawzi and Mohammad Jaber plus Ahmed Ali due to injury. 

In the second half Al Shabab pressed hard looking for a goal and their efforts were soon paid dividends when Esam Dhahi headed the ball home off a corner kick switched by Villanueva from chili to give his team the lead in the 55th minute. Bani Yas went all out hoping to level the result but they missed all the chances.  Al Shabab coach Bonamego made two substitutions in the 74th minute bringing in Mahmoud Jasim and Dawood Mohammad to replace Mohammad Marzooq and Ciel in the 74th minute while Bani Yas coach brought in Saleh Al Minhali to replace Mohammad Thamir three minutes before the official time. 

Sengahoor saved the day for the visiting team when he scored the equalizer two minutes to time with a strong shot after receiving a long ball from Nawaf Mubarak from the left flank inside the six yard area to end the game with a 1-1 result.
