Sharjah beat Al Shabab 1-0 in the 4th round postponed match
Sharjah increased their tally to seven points following their 1-0 deserved win over Al Shabab in their Etisalat Pro League fourth round postponed match played this evening at Sharjah Stadium while the losers' remain in their previous balance with 12 points. Eder Luciano (Edinho) scored the all-important goal of the game only two minutes after the breather as the two teams ended the first session with a goalless draw.
Both squads demonstrated poor performance in the first half and neither of them could make scoring chances as most of the work was concentrated on the midfield zone.
But the two teams recovered after the break to play an attacking and opening football with Sharjah take superiority over the visiting team. Their player Edinho collected the ball outside the box before launching a severe left-footer shot that beat Al Shabab goalkeeper and went straight into the left hand side. Sharjah put more pressure on their rivals' defense afterwards looking for more goals and they came close to score in many occasions. Al Shabab also made some good efforts trying to level the score but all their work went in vain. Their Brazilian player Julio Cesar was almost to bring the game back to the golden square but his volley passed close to the upright in the 61st minute.
Al Shabab went all out in the last minutes creating a number of chances but Sharjah's defenders stood solid on their way spoiling all their attempts and as time passed nothing changed until the end of the game.
