A good start for Al Wasl
Al Wasl scored a rewarding 2-1 victory beating their hosts Sharjah for the second time in the encounter that took place this afternoon at Sharjah Club Stadium in the second part of the second-half season of the Etisalat Pro League competition.
The performance was not at its best in the first half but got better in the second part of the game, Sharjah were desperately trying to compensate and score a precious equalizer home, yet Majed Nasser the visitors’ goalkeeper could save his net more than once particularly the penalty performed by the Brazilian Marcelo Oliveira.
Sharjah Started the early scoring through a header sent from Marcleo in the 7th minute, but sooner the visitors netted the equalizer through the Iranian Mohamedreza in the 16th minute to end the first half with a 1-1 draw.
Al Wasl returned in the second half and netted their rewarding winning score in the 63rd minute through the Uruguayan Juan Oliveira, and if Marcelo netted the penalty in the 72nd minute the match would have gone in a different direction.
With 18 points Al Wasl settle in the 6th place on the league standings, while endangered by the defeat. Sharjah remain with 9 points in the bottom of the table at the 10th position.
