Al Ain 4-1 victory over Sharjah

Al Ain scored another spectacular 4-1 victory over their rivals Sharjah in the top-bottom table exciting clash that took place in Sharjah Stadium this evening at 8:30 pm within Round 16 of the Etisalat Pro League campaign.

The purples managed to take the lead from the beginning and earned an early penalty netted through Gyan in the 8th minute. The king still had the chance to compensate and were trying to create a lot of stress on their opponents. Throughout the first half, the hosts were not an easy catch at all, they even had the priority in forcing attacks on their counterparts yet the first interval had to end with a 1-0 win to the visitors.

The second half was a match set on fire, Yousef Saeed leveled the score and netted the equalizer with a header from inside the 6 yards in the 57th minute. Yasser Al Qahttani did not give the king a chance to celebrate, a moment later he netted the second goal for his side with a header in the 59th minute. Sharjah’s hope began to vanish when Yasser again added the third goal for his team in the 68th minute, with a remarkable pass from Gyan that smoothly penetrated Al Sharif’s net. A surprising 93rd minute goal netted through the substitute Abdul Aziz Fayez brought joy to the purples’ fans in the stadium only few seconds before the whistle.

Al Ain raise their tally to 39 points, still keeping good space from their competitors, while Sharjah stand still at the bottom table with 11 points.
