Ajman win 3-1 to add to Sharjah's owes
Ajman have moved two steps forward taking 7th spot in the Etisalat Pro League following their 3-1 victory over the hosts team Sharjah in the 10th round game held this evening at the losers' pitch. Sharjah are currently staying in the 10th position with only 8 points.
Ajman dominated the game from the very beginning creating a number of sitters and their efforts were soon rewarded when their Lebanese striker Hassan Maatooq collected the ball inside the box , rounded up two defenders before driving it into the net only 13 minutes from the word go. Sharjah went all out afterwards with all the hope to score the equalizer and bring the match back into parity. But the winners recovered in the last 15 minutes giving their opponents hard time. Their midfielder Karim Karkar made it 2-0 when he received a perfect pass and he did not hesitate to send a left-footer into the right far corner six minutes before the breather to end the first session with a 2-0 lead for the visiting squad.
Hassan Maatooq was again on target seven minutes after the break when he collected the ball on the left flank, penetrated into the six yard area and his close-range shot was deflected into the net by Sharjah's hapless defender Ali Al Saadi giving Ajman a 3-0 lead. Sharjah exerted more efforts and they were able to reduce the deficit through their Brazilian striker Marcelinho in the 73th minute. The two teams made some good work in the last minutes but failed to add more goals ending the encounter with a 3-1 win for the visitors.
