Sharjah signs Portuguese coach Carlos Azenha for one season

Sharjah Club has signed a one-year contract, subject to renewal, with Portuguese coach Carlos Azenha for the 2011/2012 season.

Carlo Azenha (44 years) has coached at a range of international clubs, including Egypt's Al Ahli, Porto, Boavista, Setubaland Portimmons of Portugal, and Jindi Club of China.

Commenting on his new appointment to Sharjah Club, he said, "I am happy and very proud to be joining Sharjah Club. When I received an offer from Sharjah, I immediately asked about the history of the club and was happy to learn it has a proud history and has won a number of championships."

"I promise the Club's fans to exert the best of my efforts to win the games and get to team into the top positions."

Azenha pointed out that he needs time so that he can understand the nature of football in the UAE. He called on the Club's fans to support him, adding that his aim is to build character in the team and to ensure they will always fight  hard to win.
