Vercauteren: We respect Sharjah and their match result against Al Wasl will not deceive us
Belgian Franky Vercauteren, coach of Al Jazira Football Team, assured the importance of his team's game against Sharjah which will be held at the latter’s Stadium on Friday, October 21st, 2011 at 5:05 pm in the second round of the Etisalat Pro-League for the 2011/2012 season. Frankie said, "Our morales are high and our preparations are good especially after beating Al Ahli in the opening round. But I have warned the players from being overconfidence, especially that Sharjah are a great team and the result of their match with Al Wasl will not deceive us”.
Vercauteren pointed out in the press conference held at Al Jazira Club in the presence of goalkeeper Khaled Essa that he studied all the elements of Sharjah very well, and has seen some of the team’s matches on video tapes and he knows that all teams always try to beat the champion and holder of the latest version of the league. He disclosed the probability for the absence of Ibrahima Diaky after feeling some stomach pain saying that he will determine after medical tests whether Diaky will participate in the match or not.
Speaking about the readiness of the goalkeeper Ali Khusaif for the game, Vercauteren declared that Khusaif has not yet completed his medical treatment. “Khusaif, Khalid Essa and Al Sinani have proved that they are keepers of high standard and their competition with each other serves the team’, Vercauteren said.
Commenting on the performance of Abdullah Qasim, Khamis Ismail, and Khaled Essa in the last stage, Vercauteren said, "Who works hard in the trainings I will give him the priority to participate and that was the case for Abdullah Qasim, Khamis Ismail and Khaled Essa, and who exerts the same efforts, will be able to Continue with the team ".
