Al Shabab hinder Al Jazira's winning streak with a 3-2 win
Al Shabab hindered Al Jazira winning streak when they beat them 3-2 in Etisalat Pro League match played this evening at Maktoum Bin Rashid Stadium in the winners' Club. It was the first loss for Al Jazira since the start of the competition. The hosts scored two goals before the break and Al Jazira restored in the second session to level the result despite of playing with ten players after Khalid Sabeel was shown the red card in the 68th minute after collecting his second yellow card. But Ciel had the final word when he netted the winner for Al Shabab one minute to time.
Al Shabab raised their tally to 12 points while Al Jazira's balance was frozen at 16 points to stay on top of the table.
Al Shabab netted their first goal only 12 minutes into play via Julio Cesar off a perfect header that went into the left hand side of Al Jazira goalkeeper Khalid Essa and Ciel made it 2-0 seven minutes later to end the first half with a 2-0 lead.
Al Jazira started the second half with determination to reduce the difference as a first step and then modify the result, through the movements of duo Brazilians Barry and Oliveira. Diaky reduced the deficit and scored the first goal for Al Jazira in the 57th minute after receiving a through pass from Delgado. Al Jazira brought the game to parity when Barry scored the equalizer in the 73rd minute with a perfect header. But Ciel put the game beyond Al Jazira's reach when he netted the winner in the 89th minute to secure three valuable points for Al Shabab.
