Al Ain, Al Jazira, Al Wasl and Sharjah to the round of 8 in the President’s Cup competition
Al Ain, Al Jazira, Al Wasl and Sharjah made it to the quarter final of the President’s Cup competition in the matches took place this evening, beating their counterparts Emirates, Al Shabab, Al Ahli and Al Khaleej in respective.
Al Ain netted a 4-2 remarkable victory over his counterpart Emirates in the match held at Rashid Stadium in Dubai. Asamoah Gyan scored 2 goals in the 18th and the 45th,Mohammad Abdul Rahman in the 42nd and Mohannad Salem in the 54th minute. While Mohsen Metwaly scored Emirates and the match very first goal in the 4th minute, and a mistake by Al Ain’s player Fares Juma led to a second goal to Emirates in the 90th minute.
The spirit of the 4-2 victory found its way as well to Al Jazira over their counterpart Al Shabab. A tough match with no scores till the 60th minute then Ricardo Olivera netted Al Jazira’s first goal followed by Abdullah Mosa in the 93rd, Abdul Rahim Juma in the 97th and finally Bary in the 106th minute. While Aziz Bek Haidarof scored Al Shabab first goal in the 86th and their second goal was netted by Adel Abdullah.
Al Wasl significant 4-0 victory against their rival Al Ahli in the match that took place at Al Maktoum Stadium was scored by Olivera in the 7th and 64th minutes, and Donda in the 43rd and the 69th.
Finally a 2-1 victory went to Sharjah over their counterpart Al Khaleej in the match that took place at the Emirates stadium in Ras Al Kaima. Sharjah made it to the quarter final through their Brazilian striker Marsello in the 33rd and 48th minutes.
It’s worth mentioning, the President’s Cup quarter final will take place on 9&10 January 2012, the semifinal on January 24th and the competition will announce its 2012 champion on April 23rd
