UAE delegation participates in FIFA workshop in Mexico

 

Saeed Abdul Ghaffar, Vice President of the UAE Football Association and Chairman of the Interim Pro-League Committee, returned home earlier this week with his accompanying delegation following a visit to Mexico for several days during which they participated in a workshop organized by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) on the sidelines of the FIFA U-17 World Cup to be hosted by Mexico.

 

Abdul Ghaffar was accompanied by a delegation including Ahmed Bahadir, Information Technology Manager and Julian Stanculescu, Supervisor of Foreign Relations and Marketing at the UAE FA. The experts and specialists in the organizational, marketing and media fields who lectured in the workshop, provided the attendees with the latest steps that have been reached by FIFA on the modern methods and means of organization of the World Cup for Juniors championships in Mexico. The UAE will organize the next championship which will take place in 2013.

Speaking to the official website of the Etisalat Pro-League, Abdul Ghaffar said, "The trip was successful as we visited the sites and areas of the event, and were briefed on the latest technical equipments especially the logistics aspects, concerning the organization of the World Cup for Juniors from which we can benefit a lot when we organize the World Cup for Juniors 2013."

He added: "We had several meetings with the Organizing Committee of the World Cup for Juniors, and we learned about the latest steps being taken by FIFA for their tournaments; the organizational structure of the organizing committee of the tournament, preparing of playgrounds, offices, hotels, sports medicine, marketing, media and public relations, security of the stadiums and all the facilities of the tournament, in addition to ID cards and information technology."


He added, "We are confident that UAE will succeed in organizing the World Cup for Juniors as we did in the World Cup for Youth 2003 and the two Club World Club Cups in 2009 and 2010."

He praised the outstanding results achieved by UAE U-17 and U-19 National Teams and the Olympic team as well, saying that what had been achieved was the outcome of great efforts.

"Without hard work and more responsibility we will not achieve our objectives which require great ambitions and continuity of work at the same pace and better than ever in order to achieve more accomplishments and championships."
