Round 19 sees a battle for the top positions and a fight to avoid relegation

After Al Jazira put an end to the battle for the Etisalat Pro-League Crown, snatching the title for the first time in the Club's history with their 4-0 win over Al Wasl on Monday, the four remaining Rounds will see seven teams fight for the next three positions.

Bani Yas are looking likely to secure second position as they are now six points ahead of third-placed Al Shabab who are closely followed by Al Wasl and then Al Wahda with only one point between them.

At the other end of the table there are four squads fighting hard to avoid relegation. Al Dhafra and Kalba are currently sitting in the relegation zone in 12th and 11th position respectively, but only three points away from Kalba is Dubai and four points is Al Ain. All four teams will face tough games over the coming rounds, including important head-to-head matches such as Dubai vs Al Dhafra in Round 19, Kalba vs Al Ain in Round 20 and Dubai vs Kalba in Round 21.

Unlike previous rounds, Round 19 will kick off tomorrow, May 19, with only two matches. The four other matches will take place the following day.

Al Shabab will play the first match of Round 19 when they host Al Wahda at Maktoum Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Stadium tomorrow at 6:15pm. The hosts lost three valuable points when they were beaten by Kalba 2-1 last Sunday while the visiting team maintained the biggest result in Round 18 beating Sharjah 6-1 at Al NahyanStadium.  Sharjah and Al Ahli  will face-off in the second encounter of the day at Sharjah's home ground, kick off at 9pm. Al Ahli and Sharjah are in 7th and 8th position respectively, each with 23 points.

The four matches on Friday May 20 will start with a crucial encounter to avoid relegation when Al Dhafra travel from the Western Region to to battle it out against Dubai at 6:15pm. Both squads lost their Round 18 matches with Al Dhafra being beaten by Al Ain 0-3 and Dubai being defeated 0-2 by Bani Yas. Al Jazira will need to put the celebrations aside for the moment when they host Kalba at Mohammad Bin Zayed Stadium at 6:20pm. They will be keen to continue their winning streak and  keep their unbeaten record alive while the visiting team will be fighting for the three valuable points to revive their hopes in escaping relegation.

The two last games of the day will kick off at 9pm when Al Nasr will play Bani Yas at home and Al Ain will play Al Wasl at home.
