Reserve League: Al Nasr, Al Dhafra and Al Shabab win on Day One of Round 17

Al Shabab temporarily rose to 2nd in the Etisalat Reserve League with a Round 17 victory over Al Ahli by two goals to nil at the Rashid Stadium. Al Shababs points tally for the season now stands at 32, whilst Al Ahli remain on 21 points in 9th place.

Al Dhafra defeated Al Jazira at the Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Stadium with a 3-2 victory over the 5th-placed side. The loss sees Al Jazira remain on 25 points whilst Al Dhafra now have 28 points in 4th position.

Dibba Al Fujairahs Reserve side almost managed a repeat of the First Teams result versus Al Ain, but they succumbed to a late equaliser from the top-of-the-table side. Dibba Al Fujairah took the lead at their home stadium in the 70th minute through a Tariq Ahmed penalty, but Al Ain struck back to level the scores in the 88th minute with a goal from defender Mohammed Ali Ayed to make it 1-1. Al Ain retain top spot with the point giving them a total of 34, whilst Dibba Al Fujairah are 8th on 22.

In Fridays final Reserve League game, before the conclusion of the Rounds fixtures on Saturday, Al Nasr recorded a 4-2 victory over Kalba at the Al Maktoum Stadium. The win gives 7th-placed Al Nasr 22 points, and Kalba remain stuck at the bottom of the League with 9 points.
