Al Jazira and Al Wahda Coaches disclose their desire to win Super Cup

 

Al Jazira's Belgium coach Frankie Verkuteren said that he has 20 players who are ready to perform tomorrow's Super Cup game against their traditional rivals Al Wahda, which will be played on Saturday evening September 10th  at Bani Yas stadium in Al Shamkha, kick off at 7:20pm under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hazaa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Honorary President of the Football Association, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Sports Council. He said in the pre-match press conference held this morning in Bani Yas club, that all his players are able to defend the colors of Al Jazira club. "I am happy to be in Al Jazira club after training before in Qatar. I would like to thank the former coach Abel Braga, who did an outstanding work, and I have come to complete the successful march of Braga". The coach admitted that he got all the information about Al Wahda from his players who disclosed to him the strong and weak points of their rivals, as well as watching some video tapes for Al Wahda matches played in the last season", he added.

Al Jazira's coach was happy with the return of the team's international players without suffering any injuries, assuring that his team include a number of players with high technical level, and a management who provide all support to the team, but they must do their best in the game to win the Super Cup. He has great confidence in his players, but they have to respect their competitors. He assured that Ali Khusaif the goalkeeper and Yasir Mattar the back midfielder will not play the game due to injury.

On the other hand Saleh Obaid, captain of Al Jazira team, who won the League and the Cup titles last season, hopes to win the treble prior to the start of the new season. He said:" WE are ready for the match and our ambitions in the upcoming season are beyond the local levels, and we will proceed on to compete in the Asian Champions League".

Speaking at the press conference Al Wahda's coach, Joseph Heksberger said that Al Jazira have to win the Super Cup because they have good players, and they were the strongest in the last season to win the league and the cup, but they will also  do their best and exert more efforts in the game to win the Super Cup.

 He pointed to the need to have a strong defense and his players must have fighting spirit, but this does not mean that they will defend throughout the game, but it is because of the strength of the Al Jazira attacking line.

Heksberger said that his team played brilliantly in the Cup final match last season, but they were unlucky to lose 0-4.

Motaz Abdullah keeper and captain of Al Wahda team, said in the press conference that he hopes to win the title No. 17 in his career with the UAE football, adding that he has won 16 championship before (league and Cup titles and other Champions), but it does not include a Super Cup Championship and he hopes to win it for the first time with Al Wahda who are playing in the Super Cup for the second consecutive season.

Motaz said that what enhances their chance of winning tomorrow that all the teams that won the Super Cup in previous seasons, were not League Champions and they are determined to make the Super Cup their start for the new season.
