The PLC participates in the conference: “The importance of Social Media""
The Professional League Committee (PLC) participated in the conference organized by the Sports Care Program, Abu Dhabi Sports Council under the title of : " The importance of the Social Media", which was held in Abu Dhabi Sports Club on Thursday, April 5, 2012, in the presence of HE Abdulla Nasser Al Junaibi, Vice Chairman of the Professional League Committee (PLC) , Chairman of the Technical Committee , who explained to the audience the role of the Social Media and its impact on sports bodies. Al Junaibi reviewed the Committee's experience in establishing its official website, in addition to creating accounts for the committee in various social networking sites, pointing out that the objective behind this is to increase the number of followers and those interested in the affairs of the UAE professional clubs.
Al Junaibi said, "All the UAE professional clubs ought to start renewing official pages in various social networking sites, because they will inevitably benefit in various affairs of fans, marketing and promotion".
Al Junaibi also encouraged all players to set up their own accounts in the various social networking sites, on condition of taking great care in presenting information about their teams.
Aref Al Awani, director of Sports Care Program in Abu Dhabi Sports Council, inaugurated the symposium welcoming the big number of attendees which included clubs administrators, players and media representatives, where he presented a detailed explanation about the importance and the role of the Social Media in various sporting events.
Mohammed Zahir, expert in the field of Social Media also gave an extensive explanation about the importance of networks and social networking sites and the secret behind the success of these sites, and the types of participants.
Khadija Mohsen al-Faqih, a researcher specialized in computer crimes in Abu Dhabi Police, explained in detail ways of protecting against the passive effects of the social networking sites. Al-Faqih explained the electronic crimes, crimes of information security, financial fraud, libel and defamation, which may be caused by social networking sites and the solutions that limit the increase of these crimes.
At the end of the symposium all the participants were given a chance to ask questions and there was an overwhelming response at the level of questions and answers to inquiries regarding the importance and the role of social networking sites on sport aspects.
