PLC organizes a workshop for Match Commissioners and Club General Coordinators
The Pro League Committee “PLC” organized a workshop for its competitions match commissioners and the Clubs’ General Coordinators under the auspices of the Sports Care Program attached to the Abu Dhabi Sports Council at the Rocco Forte Hotel in Abu Dhabi.
The workshop which will continue for four days, will include a field visit to Al Wahda Club on Thursday and a test to all participants on Friday, the final day of the workshop.
At the outset of his opening speech, Dr. Khalid M. Abdulla, Chief Executive Officer “CEO” of the Pro League Committee “PLC”, conveyed the greetings of H.E. Mohammed Thani Murshed Al Romaithi Chairman of the Pro League Committee PLC”, Chairman of the Executive Office, and members of the Executive Office. He also welcomed the commissioners attached to the committee and the UAE Professional clubs’ General Coordinators.
Dr. Khalid noted in his speech that the workshops will not stop at this point before the start of the season, but there will be many workshops as per the PLC strategy to improve the Football, and that the PLC will evaluate the commissioners’ work periodically, and their readiness and all matters relating to the organization of the games.
Dr. Abdulla said: "We have now clear regulations which will contribute to facilitate the work of the commissioners in the games that they manage, and through those regulations we were able to create a unified system, because their estimates may vary from one commissioner to another”. He assured that the workshops will be supervised by lecturers from the AFC, to get in the end to the true meaning of professionalism in football, the popular sport in the UAE”.
On the other hand, Michelle Chai, PLC Technical and Competition Director, gave a detailed explanation to match commissioners about the tasks and duties assigned to them during their organization of the games organized by the committee, and the role of the UAE clubs in the organization of those games. Chai stressed on the importance of working side by side between the commissioner attached to the Committee and the clubs’ general coordinators and try not to stop the match, whatever the circumstances, and not to give any opinions or unclear orders because it might complicate matters, also the match commissioner must have neutrality and good leadership to the match organizing team.
She explained to the commissioners the way how to submit a pre- match and a post - match report stressing on the importance of writing remarks, if any, so as to avoid them in the upcoming matches.
Chai emphasized the importance of extensive notifying on regulations set by the Pro League Committee “PLC”, which have been distributed to the clubs, because they are the only reference to various issues and matters that may occur during the organization of the games. She revealed the determination of the committee to set up web pages on the social media sites to put those regulations and discuss them with the commissioners and clubs’ officers, to answer any queries and questions made by the commissioners.
On the other side, Taha Ezzat, the PLC Competitions Officer explained some detailed matters concerning the match commissioners’ work, starting from the places that the commissioner should inspect before the game, through all the details regarding the players’ dressing rooms, referees’ rooms and all other facilities, in addition to inspecting the two teams’ kit and players enrolled according to the rules explained by the regulations. Ezzat explained to the attendees the match organizations procedures as per the competitions, equipment and stadia regulations.
