The PLC holds an extraordinary meeting to discuss Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed’s directives
The Professional League Committee (PLC) Board of Directors held an extraordinary meeting this evening at the UAE Football Association headquarters in Abu Dhabi presided over by His Excellency Mohammed Mohammed Bin Fadil Al Hamli Chairman of the Professional League Committee. The meeting was attended by His Excellency Abdulla N. Al Junaibi PLC Vice Chairman; Chairman of the Technical Committee along with Board of Directors members Mohammmed Saeed Al Nuaimi, Ibrahim Al Nemer, Dr. Nasser Salim Al Ameri and Dr. Khalid Mohammed Abdullah the Pro League Committee (PLC) Acting Chief Executive Officer.
The committee decided to address the Al Jazira, Bani Yas, Al Shabab, Al Nasr, Al Wasl and Al Wahda clubs who are taking part in both the AFC Champions League and the GCC Clubs Championship to provide the committee in a three-day time with their suggestions on the possibility of rescheduling the program of the remaining matches of this season in a way that can serve their external competitions and at the same time honor UAE football at the Asian and GCC levels.
Mohammed Mohammed Bin Fadil Al Hamli said in a statement following the meeting,"The committee's decision came on the light of the statements issued by of HH Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Presidential Affairs at the end of the President's Cup final match which was held on last Monday between Al Jazira and Bani Yas". He added, "Sheikh Mansour is one of the important sport celebrities not only at the local level, but also at the international level as well. He has many sports achievements and contributions both at the level of his presidency of Al Jazira Club, as well as his efforts with his Manchester City Club, who are competing in the English Premier League Championship this season, besides his continuous contributions in the various fields of sports in general. His directives will be taken into consideration when programming the forthcoming season calendar, for the interest of UAE football during the external participations."
Al Hamli stressed that the Committee will try to end the on-going season in a way that serves the interest of the clubs participating in the external Championships and helps them to honour the UAE football. The committee will take this matter into consideration in the agenda of the next season in the light of the participations of the clubs and the national teams as well".
