Only AFC-approved stadium for PLC competitions

In order to ensure that the UAE maintains its eligibility to play in the AFC Champions League, the PLC Executive Office decided at its last meeting that only stadia meeting the AFC criteria will be allowed to host matches in PLC competitions.

Among others, the AFC criteria states that a stadia must have at least 30 seats with desk for the media tribune as well as a well-equipped media centre.

Even if only one stadia out of the 14 stadium fails the criteria, no points will be awarded and all clubs will be considered to have failed.  In addition, for every failed criteria, AFC will deduct 30 points from the total number of points for the UAE.

In order to be eligible for the AFC Champions League 2013 and 2014, the UAE must obtain a minimum of 600 points. Playing in stadium that doesn't meet the AFC requirement will result in the UAE being deducted as many as 60 points which will jeopardise our club's participation in the continental competition.

The AFC is due to conduct their inspection visit to the UAE from 22-25 September 2012 and a decision on the number of points and number of slots for the AFC champions league 2013 and 2014 will be decided at the end of November 2012.
