Professional League Committee supports Olympic Team against Australia
The Professional League Committee (PLC) calls upon all football fans to support the UAE Olympic Team in their match against their counterparts Australia which will be held at Mohammad Bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi next Wednesday 22 February at 05:30 pm in the fifth round of the Asian qualifiers for London Olympics 2012.
Furthermore, the Professional League Committee has extended invitation to all associates to its official and social web sites to come to Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi to support the Olympic Team.
Dr. Khalid Mohammad Abdullah, the acting Chief Executive Officer of the Pro League Committee assured the importance of effective participation in supporting the Olympic Team in their upcoming match against the Australians, on the basis of national duty, which is considered the responsibility of all the UAE's population as a whole.
The Executive Director of the committee said: "all the society sections are invited to support the Olympic Team in their important encounter which leads to London Olympics, and we are in turn will support the Olympic Team as we believe in the necessity of encouraging all the national teams in all competitions".
It is worth mentioning that the UAE team are currently staying on top of the second group of qualifiers with 8 points, the same that of Uzbekistan, who will face Iraq on Tuesday. The Federation of the Internationale Football Association (FIFA) has awarded the UAE team the three points of their first leg match against Iraq, which took place in Al Ain last November after the latter fielded in a suspended player. Iraq won that game with a two straight goals but (FIFA) officially recognized UAE as a winner with a 3-0 result, after the administrative error that committed by the Iraqi officials.
