2015-2018 AFC agenda coordination discussed

A coordination meeting was held today at the headquarters of the UAE FA in Dubai to discuss the proposed agenda of AFC competitions from 2015-2018. The meeting, attended by representatives of various member federations within the Asian Football Confederation, discussed National Team programs including the proposed scheduling of the 2019 Asian Cup, depending upon the event of the tournament taking place in January, or alternatively in June and July. Scheduling for Club-related competitions was also covered in the meeting, addressing the proposed dates of preliminary rounds for the annual AFC Champions League tournament, and also considering the spacing of AFC Champions League matches so as to allow member associations to implement their domestic schedules without conflict.
 
The meeting was attended by Yaser Al Meshal and Hamad Al Senai of the Saudi Arabia Football Association, Ali Hamad Al Nuaimi and Hamad Al Hajeri of the Qatar FA, Manee Mubarak Al Hayyan of the Kuwait FA, Ahmad Mohammed Al Mayassi of the Oman FA, Mahdi Taj and Mohammed Redha Kesreh of the Iran FA, Colin Smith and Michelle Chai of the Pro League Committee, and Obeid Mubark Al Shamsi and Ayman Haroun of the UAE FA, ahead of the AFC workshop to be held in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday 3rd and Wednesday 4th September where all points discussed in today’s meeting will be raised.
