Four teams fight for a berth in the 2012 AFC Champions League
The Etisalat Pro-League Competition will come to an end on Sunday night May 5 with all six matches being played at 7:50pm. The two top places and the two at the bottom of the table were determined earlier with Al Jazira who have collected 50 points so far winning the championship since Round 18 for the first time in their history followed by Bani Yas as runner-up on 35 points. Al Dhafra and Kalba were relegated to First Division on 12 and 20 points respectively. But four squads Al Nasr on 32, both Al Wasl and Al Shabab on 31 and Al Wahda on 30 points still have a chance to secure a berth in the next 2012 continental competition. The other four teams Al Ahli and Sharjah on 27, Dubai on 26 and Al Ain on 25 points will struggle hard to better their positions.
Al Wahda are to travel to the Western Region to face Al Dhafra at Hamdan Bin Zayed Stadium without their defender Hamdan Al Kamaly due to suspension.
Al Shabab will host Al Ain at Maktoum Bin Rashid Stadium with both teams need to win the three points. The hosts are set to struggle hard for the third spot but this depends on the results of their other competing teams. They hope Al Dhafra and Sharjah would do them a favour by hindering Al Wahda and Al Wasl. The visitors will miss the efforts of their all professional players and their Brazilian coach Alexander Gallo will depend on his local players. He decided to exclude Ibrahima Keita from Ivory Coast because he is not pleased with the red card the player had received in the match against Kalba and that led to the loss of three valuable points as hosts Kalba beat Al Ain 4-3. Also Brazilian Elias and Juma'a Saeed from Ivory Coast will not participate in tomorrow's game after collecting three yellow cards each.
In the other matches of the day second placed Bani Yas will host Al Ahli at New Bani Yas Stadium and Kalba will face Al Nasr at their home ground.
Dubai will travel to Abu Dhabi to take on champions Al Jazira at Mohammad Bin Zayed Stadium where the hosts are organizing big celebrations on the occasion of winning both trophies the President's Cup and the Etisalat Pro-League Title. The home team will play without their left fuul back Abdullah Mousa who was given marching orders in their match against Al Ain. Al Wasl will play at their home pitch against Sharjah hoping to collect three points that help them to compete for the third place.
