Maradona an honorary and athletes ambassador for Dubai

Dubai Sports Council has signed a one-year deal with Argentine football legend Diego Maradona. The contract which will come to an end in next August 2013, was signed in an international press conference in the presence of H.E. Dr. Ahmed Sharif, Secretary General of Dubai Sports Council and a number of UAE sports personalities and a crowd of local and international media representatives who always keep up with Maradona’s news. Maradona becomes under this agreement an honorary and athletes ambassador for Dubai Emirate. 

The signing of this contract comes as a reflect to the good and strong relationship between Dubai and legend Maradona and their joint desire to strengthen  this relationship and put it in the framework of the joint efforts of both sides to develop the sport in the emirate and promote it as a way of life.

The legend will provide his expertise for the development of football in Dubai and participation in national and international conferences within its delegation and definition of the ongoing evolution in sports sector along with future prospects for the continued development in the sports sector executed by its government under the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and implementation carried out by its sports council, the official body which runs and promotes  the sports sector in the emirate.
