Al Ahli sign Spanish Quique to substitute Czech Hasek
Al Ahli's new Spanish coach Enrique Sanchez Flores famous as "QUIQUE" is due to arrive this evening to Dubai to replace former Czech Ivan Hasek who was sacked following the team's loss to Al Shabab in the GCC Champions League final match last week, although they won in the first leg 3- 2 at Rashid Stadium, but they lost the second leg game at Al Shabab Stadium 2-0. It was second defeat for Al Ahli from the same rivals within five days as they lost earlier in Etisalat Pro-League where they are staying far behind in the table with a single win and two defeats in three matches.
The Spanish coach (46 years) has a good C.V, as he coached recently ATLETICO DE MADRID from 2009-2011, and led them to win the UEFA League (Europa League) in 2010, and the European Super Cup in the same year, after defeating Inter Milan European champions League.
Quique has coached before many clubs like Getafe and Valencia of Spain, Benfica of Portugal, and began his training career with the youngsters' team of Real Madrid in 2001. The Czech Ivan Hasek is considered the second coach to be sacked in the Etisalat Pro-League, after Bani Yas's Brazilian former coach Jovan Vieira, , who was dismissed after the team's loss to Al Jazira in the third round of the Etisalat Pro-League.
