Kalba v Ajman Pre-Match Press Conferences
Kalba head coach Ze Mario has stated that attack is the best form of defense for his second-from-bottom side, as they plan to go gung-ho in order to secure three points at home to Ajman on Saturday. Speaking at his pre-match press conference, the Brazilian said; “We need to secure all three points after losing at Al Ahli in the last round, and we must put plenty of offensive pressure on Ajman in order to achieve this.” The Brazilian coach welcomes the return of Gregory Dufrennes and Edward Sadomba, hailing their comebacks as a big positive for the team. “Sadomba offers great quality but he needs a few more games in order to fit with the team, and Gregory was out of action for over 40 days due to injury, so it is a bonus to have him back,” he said. The manager is aware that Ajman is a good team that will be battling hard to try and stop their recent downward spiral, and in particular highlighted Fawzi Bashir as a threat.
Ze Mario’s opposite number, Ajman head coach Abdul Wahab Abdulkadir is acutely aware of Kalba’s qualities, displayed in players such as Sadomba, Mohamed Malalla and Abdullah Al Jamahi. “I hope my Ajman players will put in a good performance to match Kalba and continue playing well despite our worrying position as we now sit just six points away from the relegation places. We are doing all we can to come out the other side of this difficult phase,” the Iraqi boss said. Abdulkadir noted that his defense has suffered an unsettled season, with more than 10 players featuring in the back line since the start of the campaign; a worrying number offering a lack of consistency for the team. However, for the game at Kalba, Ajman suffer only from a limited number of absences as Samir Ibrahim is suspended and Ahmed Ibrahim is not fit to play. Commenting on his own future at the Club, Abdulkadir stated; “I have never thought about leaving the team or handing in my resignation because leaving offers no escape from difficult situations, and our focus now is solely on the next matches. I will not do anything to weaken this focus.”
