Ivan Jovanovic was officially unveiled as the new head coach of Al Nasr, signing a two-year contract at the Al Maktoum Stadium with an option to extend. Introduced by Al Nasr Vice Chairman H.E. Ahmad Khoory, the 50-year-old Serbian joins Al Nasr after just under six successful years at Cypriot club APOEL. H.E. Ahmad Khoory gave the incoming coach a warm welcome, saying: “We are proud to unveil a distinguished coach in the form of Ivan Jovanovic, and hope that he will feel he is among his family at Al Nasr Club. Speaking about his new role, Jovanovic said: “I thank the Board of Directors for having the confidence to appoint me and I hope to help restore the Club to its former glories. My first priorities will be to get to know my squad of players, and also get to know the other teams in the league in order to prepare as best as we can for next season.” After six seasons of great success with APOEL, Jovanovic confirmed that he is enthused by his new task at hand, adding: “I have now moved to a different environment, a different league, and this gives me a new challenge and motivation in my career. I hope my new motivation will rub off on the players and inspire them to lead Al Nasr to many successes over the coming seasons.”
