Joint committee set up

 

The UAEFA has agreed to set up a joint committee with the UAE Football League (UFL) to study all the rules and agreements signed between the bodies for the best interest of the public goals and objectives. The said regulations and agreements would be tested against the respective rules and regulations of the AFC and FIFA to keep pace with the global development and progress of professionalism. The committee will also be required to assess the performance during the previous seasons.

The committee is comprised of Saeed Abdul Ghaffar, Vice-President of the UAEFA, Yousuf Abdulla, Secretary General of the UAEFA, Mohammed Al Dowry, FA Legal Advisor, Dr. Matar Al Darmaki, Vice-President of the UFL, Carlo Nahra, CEO of the UFL and Gerard Habibian, UFL Legal Advisor.  

According to Mohammed Khalfan Al Rumaithi, President of the UAEFA, the move underlines the keenness of the FA and UFL to work together from all technical and organizational aspects to develop the football competitions to serve the ultimate goal of creating strong national teams.

Dr. Tareq Al Tayer, Chairman of the UFL echoed the same opinion, pointing out that there are many parts in the rules and regulations which need reconsideration.
