Hickersberger: “The game is difficult for both sides”

Al Wahda  Coach Joseph Hickersberger accepted that the team has lost its chance of winning the Etisalat Pro-League title this season given the big points difference to leaders Al Jazira. He said, "We are currently focusing on the President's Cup and the Etisalat Cup competitions and we hope to reach the final match in both tournaments."

He is hoping that his players show the same performance they demonstrated in their last game against Bunyodkor from Uzbekistan in the first round of 2011 AFC Champions League, especially in the defensive line.

Hickersberger called upon his players to take advantage of any opportunity that came their way during their Etisalat Cup encounter with Al Shabab. He is expecting a strong and difficult tie, particularly given Al Shabab have quality players who know how to deal with the net.

Al Wahda's coach commented that their defender Mahmoud Khamis was suffering from a hamstring injury and his teammate Mohammed Al Shehhi was affected by a severe cold and their participation in the match would therefore be determined after the last training session.
