Hemberto: lack of concentration was behind our defeat; Vercauteren: Dubai were better in 2nd half
Dubai Football Team's Swiss coach Hemberto assured that if his players demonstrated the same level of performance of what they show during the training sessions, they would have definitely scored in their match against AL Jazira. He explained that the main reason behind his dissatisfaction with the result was the lack of concentration. Hemberto was speaking in a post match press conference following the third round game of the Etisalat Cup which ended in favor of Al Jazira with a lone goal scored by Australian Lucas Neil in the 38th minute.
Hemberto said:" We demonstrated an almost similar performance to that of Al Jazira especially in the second half and we made several substitutions after the break but it didn't work. We have to work hard and concentrate on offensive tactics in the forthcoming matches".
Speaking about the Etisalat Cup Competition and its importance, the Swiss coach Hemberto said: "The championship is very important to us and we look for a win in all matches, and for me it is just playing seriously and endeavor to achieve good results".
On the other hand the Belgium coach Vercauteren of Al Jazira was realistic in his words as he admitted that Dubai were better in the second half. He noted that his players are still conducting physical trainings but their performance is getting better from one match to another.
Commenting on Bare's poor display Al Jazira's coach said:" I will talk to the player as I always do with all other players and everyone should work hard in the coming period".
Vercauteren disclosed that he talked with Diaky after the interval and reminded him of the yellow card he received in the first session." We do respect the referee's decisions and Diaky apologized to me after the match", said the Belgium coach.
Asked about the absence of a number of his team's key players who are in national duty along with some injured players and the sent off of Diaky when they face Al Ain in the fourth round, Vercauteren said that they have to adapt themselves to such conditions. "I will give the chance to all players and they have to prove their ability to play in the team's line up, and for me the absence of players is not an excuse", he concluded.
