Al Kamali on loan to Lyon

H.H Sheikh Diab bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the Al Wahda Sports and Culture Club, has agreed to release the club’s player Hamdan Al Kamali to the French giants Lyon In a first of its kind move in UAE football, Kamali of Al Wahda has been loaned to French Football Club Olympique Lyonnais starting from Feb.2 until the end of June 30 along with the option of permanently moving as a professional player for Lyon by the end of the loaning period.

This decision came out of H.H Sheikh Diab bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s keen interest to offer an opportunity for the club’s members to seek a professional career outside the UAE and upgrade their playing level that reflects the football in the UAE and the country’s national teams.


The UAE international defender left on Sunday morning to complete the required procedures with the French club, once finished he will sign and become the first-ever UAE player to appear in a top European League
