General Assembly of the UFL discussed several important issues.
The UFL General Assembly held its second regular meeting on Saturday morning at The Meydan Hotel in Dubai, headed by Dr. Tariq Bin Humaid Al Tayer, the UFL Board of Directors Chairman. It was attended by the UFL board of directors and clubs' representatives.
The UFL chairman offered his deepest condolences, on behalf of the UFL board and the professional league clubs, to the UAE government and people on the death of His Highness ShaikhSaqr Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah , May Allah bless his soul.
The General Assembly approved the financial audited report of the season 2009-2010 and the estimated budget for the current season 2010-2011, as well as the appointment of the UFL external auditor.
The General Assembly also discussed the UFL competitions' regulations, the expansion of UFL in order to comply with the requirements of the Asian Football Confederation (33 matches for each club per season). It was decided that workshops will be held with the participation of UAE Football Association, coaches and specialists to discuss all aspects of the professional league, the Etisalat Challenge League and youth competitions. The final decision on this matter will be taken before the end of the year.
The General Assembly deliberated a number of proposals onthe distribution of net profits to its member clubs.
Another item on the agenda was raising the allocation of seats for visiting clubs. A new allocation of 25% of capacity was approved instead of the current 10%.
Sharjah Club requested a review of the performances of the referees in the Etisalat Pro-League and Etisalat Cup. It was resolved that a workshop will be held for the elite referees, coaches and administrative staff to discuss the positive as well as the negative aspectsthat occur during the matches.
