Al Wasl host Al Wahda today in the 27 GCC Clubs quarterfinal
The Dubai-based Al Wasl will host Al Wahda this evening in the 27 GCC Clubs championship quarterfinal match at Zabeel Stadium; kick off at 7:30pm and the winners will proceed direct to the semifinal. The two teams will play extra time in case of a draw result in the official time and resort to penalty shootout if the result remains unchanged.
Both squads are expected to demonstrate a balanced display tonight to keep their hopes alive after they lost their chances and failed to make it in all the local competitions. But Al Wasl’s International football legend Diego Maradona hopes to end the season even with a single championship. Their International custodian Majid Nasser, who was suspended locally, is expected to join the team in today’s game after being away for 117 days. The Austrian Hecksberger, the coach of Al Wahda, seeks to achieve a positive result with his team prior to his departure.
A Kuwaiti refereeing team will officiate the match including referee Walid Al Shatti and his assistants Humoud Al Sahli, Nasser Al-Shatti, fourth official Ali Talib and the Omani Ahmad Al Habsi as match commissioner.
