International referee Farid Ali retires after officiating 20 years
The UAE International referee Farid Ali, decided to retire after officiating hundreds of football matches at the local, GCC, Arab, Asian and international levels over around twenty years. Farid was among the best referees in the history of UAE football. He was awarded the trophy as one of the Best UAE referees for his outstanding performance and successful approach in officiating matches.
Despite of retiring after a number of refereeing years of work, Farid will not stay away from the world of football as he will be on the bench of substitutes. Farid is going to start his new stint after being appointed as a manager for Bani Yas Senior Football Team in addition to his work as a general supervisor.
Farid was a member of Bani Yas's family since a long time. He played for the First Football Team for a couple of years in the very early eighties when Bani Yas Club was founded at that time. He decided to hang up his boots before going into the refereeing field in which he shined up and achieved big success.
"I am so happy to have the Club administration's trust and be assigned to carry out the responsibilities of this new position and I hope to succeed in my new job", Farid said. He added:" I am one of Bani Yas's family and I have never been away at any moment through all time. The Club's administration has been used to prepare its sons to hold administrative and technical positions to serve their club in a faithful manner".
Bani Yas's new manager said that they are aspire for better results and good technical standard in the upcoming season especially after taking 4th position in the season 2009/2010 and finished as runner up in the last season which assures the uprising trend of the team.
On the other hand Farid praises Bani Yas's new coach Vieira describing him as a very good , ambitious and the right and suitable coach for the forthcoming stage, and always devours to win championships.
