Voting for Fans’ Player of the Year takes off via Facebook and SMS

Competition for the Fans’ Player of the Year award is building up as fans of the Etisalat Pro League cast their votes online using the Pro League Committee’s official Facebook app and via the Etisalat SMS code to support their best players of the 2012-2013 season. The result of the fans’ choice award, which will be entirely decided by public vote, will be announced at the inaugural Etisalat Pro League Awards ceremony at the ADNEC exhibition centre in Abu Dhabi on Sunday 26th May. Fans have until Saturday 25th May to make their votes count in the Fans’ Player of the Year category, where they may vote once daily using the Facebook app on www.facebook.com/uaeproleague, and Etisalat subscribers may also vote once daily via SMS by sending a text to 1110 using the following format: FP [Player’s Name] [Player’s Club]. Fans are sharing the names of the players they have voted for with their Facebook friends, and with their Twitter followers using the #FPYawards hashtag.

The first Etisalat Pro League Awards will celebrate the successes of the 2012-2013 season with nine awards categories, namely: Emirati Player of the Year, International Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, Goalkeeper of the Year, Young Player of the Year, Top Scorer of the Year, Professional Club of the Year, Fantasy Football Manager of the Year, and Fans’ Player of the Year; the only award to be decided entirely by the public.
