Al Jazira overcome their counterparts Al Wasl 2-1
Al Jazira reserve team maintained their fourth 2-1 win over Al Wasl in the 7th round match played at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi to take fourth position in the Etisalat Reserve League for this season. It was the 6th defeat and the 5th in a row for Al Wasl that kept them at the bottom of the table as they have collected only one point since the start of the competition after they forced Al Nasr to a goalless draw in the second round. Al Jazira raised their tally to 13 points to remain with a six – point difference behind Al Wahda who are on top of the standings with a record of 19 points from six wins and a 2-2 draw against Al Shabab in the second round. Al Wahda continued their winning streak afterwards in five successive games in addition to their win over Al Wasl in the opening match to retain their unbeaten record while Al Wasl remained with a single point that forced them to stay at the bottom of the table.
On the other hand Al Nasr took their balance to 11 points to take sixth spot after coming up with a 2-0 victory over Bani Yas in the match played at Khalid bin Mohammed Stadium in Al Shaab Club for the losers to retain their previous six – point balance and remain in 12th place.
In the last encounter of this round Al Shaab beat Al Ahli with a lone goal at Rashid Stadium in Al Ahli Club. Al Shaab are in 11th position with seven points whereas Al Ahli are taking 7th spot with 10 points.
