Etisalat Reserve League Round 23 Review

Al Ain continued their reign at the top of the Etisalat Reserve League table with a comfortable 4-0 win over the second string of Al Shaab in Round 23 of the Etisalat Reserve League at the Tahnoun bin Mohamed Stadium on Sunday. Goals from Ahmed Barman, Mohammed Ali Ayed, Faraj Juma and Fahad Juma handed Al Ain the victory, giving them 49 points at the top of the table. Al Shaab remain bottom of the League on 16 points.

Al Nasr’s Reserve side recorded a 2-1 win over Al Ahli at the Rashid Stadium on Saturday, putting the victors 5th in the League on 36 points and the losing side 10th on 28. Also on Saturday, Ajman and Al Wahda played out a 2-2 draw at the Rashid bin Saeed Stadium to give Al Wahda 44 points in 4th place and Ajman 33 points in 6th, and Al Wasl were defeated 3-0 at home by Kalba at the Zabeel Stadium, seeing the sides switch places with Kalba up to 11th on 22 points and Al Wasl drop to 12th with 21. Sunday’s remaining games saw 2nd-placed Al Shabab defeat Dibba Al Fujairah 2-1 at the Dibba Stadium, leaving their opponents 8th in the table, whilst Al Jazira’s Reserves were held to a 0-0 draw by Dubai at the Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, putting Al Jazira 7th on 30 points and Dubai second-from-bottom on 16, and finally Al Dhafra beat Bani Yas 3-1 at the Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan Stadium to give the home side 44 points in 4th place, whilst the Sky Blues are 9th with 29.
