Etisalat Reserve League Round 22 Review
Kicking off Round 22 of the Etisalat Reserve League, Al Ain’s second string put on a show to beat Dubai 5-0 on Friday having seen their First Team take the Etisalat Pro League title the night before. Faraj Juma, Ahmed Sahel and Musallem Fayez all converted from the penalty spot, with Salem Abdulla and Abdulla Al Sheeba also getting on the scoresheet. The comprehensive victory at the Dubai Club Stadium increases Al Ain’s tally at the top of the Reserve table to 46 points, whilst Dubai remain at the very bottom of the pile with 15 points.
On Saturday, Al Dhafra comfortably defeated Al Shaab by 3 goals to nil at the Khaled bin Mohamed Stadium, lifting them temporarily to 2nd in the League with 41 points. Al Shaab remain second from bottom on 16 points after the defeat. Also on Saturday, Al Nasr’s Reserves raced to a rampant 7-1 victory over Dibba Al Fujairah at the Al Maktoum Stadium. Al Nasr are 5th in the table with 33 points, whilst Dibba Al Fujairah sit 8th with 29 points after 22 games. Kalba overcame Al Jazira 3-0 at the Kalba Union Sports & Cultural Club Stadium to conclude Saturday’s Etisalat Reserve League action, putting Kalba 12th on 19 points whilst Al Jazira temporarily remain 7th on 29 points, pending the results of tonight’s matches.
