Reserve League: Round 17 Day Two Review
Following wins for Al Nasr over Kalba, Al Dhafra over Al Jazira and Al Shabab over Al Ahli on Friday, plus a draw between Dibba Al Fujairah and Al Ain, Round 17 of the Etisalat Reserve League concluded on Saturday with three further fixtures.
Al Wahda’s second string comfortably beat Dubai 5-0 at the Al Nahyan Stadium in Abu Dhabi. The win puts Al Wahda on 34 points, equal with the League leaders, however Al Ain retain top spot due to the fact that they defeated Al Wahda when the two sides went head-to-head earlier in the season. Dubai remain third from bottom on 13 points.
Bani Yas were held to a 1-1 draw by Al Shaab at the Mohammad Bin Zayed Stadium, leaving the Sky Blues 10th on 18 points and Al Shaab in the penultimate position with 12 points.
To complete Round 17’s action, Ajman hosted Al Wasl at the Rashid Bin Saeed Stadium and the two sides played out a goalless draw, giving Ajman a total of 23 points in 6th place, whilst Al Wasl sit 11th on 14 points.
