Bani Yas tie with Al Wahda

A match divided in two, that’s the least to be said about Bani Yas 2-2 tie with their counterparts Al Wahda in the thrill that took place this evening at Bani Yas Stadium in Al Shamikha within round 8 of Etisalat Pro League competition.


They say actions speak louder than words, but it seems that numbers go the other way, a high standard performance for Bani Yas throughout the match and a first half 2-0 victory, were not enough at the end of the game. The motivation the blues have earned by the 20th minute when Adnan Al Beloshi netted Bani Yas first goal and just 2 minutes later Haboush Saleh scored the second for his team gave the blues the confidence from the start. But that was not enough, a lot of wasted chances and another wasted penalty scored by Senghor in the 79th minute turned a certain awaited win into a disappointing draw.


On the other hand Al Wahda were not at their best throughout the first half, but the penalty netted through Hugo Henrique in the 70th minute gave back hope to the 2010 pro league champions. No one can say it was a lucky day for Al Wahda, Mutaz Abdulla was flagged out in the 77th minute, but the missed penalty by Senghor followed immediately by the tie scored through the Brazilain Baiano saved Al Wahda the bitterness of loss and a tie was accepted.


Al Wahda ended round 8 with 13 points while Bani Yas with 7 points remain 10th on the table.
