Al Jazira escape Ajman's ambush; Al Wasl make Maradona happy, and Al Shabab draw with Bani Yas
Ajman missed an invaluable opportunity to achieve their first win in the Etisalat Pro League after losing at home to leaders Al Jazira, although they were 3-1 ahead, but their defense line and goalkeeper did not successed in dealing with Al Jazira's attacks, who recovered in the second half, to benefit from the opportunities in front of Ajman's goalmouth, scoring three goals which helped them to emerge winners and put them on the top of the standings with 13 points.
Al Nasr maintained a landslide 4-0 victory over Al Ahli for the second time in one week after defeating them 3-2 in the Etisalat Cup. Al Nasr's professional player Amara Diane played a pioneer role in his team's win with his quick and disturbing movements. Following Careca and Humaid Abdullah's first half two goals, substitute Younis Ahmed made it 3-0 in the 67th minute.
Al Wasl came out with a difficult fought win over Emirates in Ras Al Khaimah to stay just three points behind the forerunner Al Jazira, but any faltering of Al Jazira will leave much room to Al Wasl to pounce on the lead.
On the other hand Al Shabab have lost two points at home after Bani Yas leveled the score two minutes from the final whistle for the latters' caretaker coach Salem Al Orfi to keep his record clean in four successive official games, before the new Argentinean coach Calderon starts his stint and lead the team in the next match against Al Ain.
Dubai snatched an invaluable point following their 1-1 draw with Al Wahda at Al Nahyan Stadium in the capital Abu Dhabi. Despite of adding one point to their balance, but Dubai are still sitting at the bottom of the ladder with two points, and at the same time the draw has hindered Al Wahda's progress towards the top spots.
In the last match of the fifth round, Al Ain beat Sharjah 2-1 to remain close to the leaders with the same difference of points and still have a game in hand, where a win in their postponed match will help them to share the lead with Al Jazira.
