Fifth round kicks off on Sunday; Al Jazira and Al Ain in Abu Dhabi clasico

The Etisalat Pro – League 2012 – 2013 fifth round will kick off on Sunday, October 28 with three matches where both losers in last week matches Al Shaab and Al Wahda, are to battle it out at Sharjah Stadium at 6:25pm. The two teams, who lost their previous games to Bani Yas and Dubai respectively, have six points each. Both will have all their regulars as it is a disengagement and a come back to their winning streak encounter.

In the second tie, Dubai – based Al Wasl, who overcame Ajman in the fourth round with two straight goals, will host their counterparts Al Dhafra who outclassed Al Jazira 2-1 in the same round, at their home ground in Zabeel, kick off at 6:25pm. The game is considered an important one as Al Wasl who are in 4th spot are just one point ahead of Al Dhafra who are sitting in 7th position with 7 points. 

At the end of the first day matches, sixth- placed Dubai will meet Al Nasr who are on top of the table with 10 points on their pitch in Al Aweer. The game seems to be difficult for the leaders especially that the hosts beat Al Wahda at the latters’ Stadium in Abu Dhabi in the last round in front of their fans.

The fifth round will be completed on Monday, October 29 with 4 matches including Al Jazira – Al Ain, the Abu Dhabi clasico which will be held at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium at 9:00pm. The football fans are promised with a strong match in the light of the tenth – placed hosts team with 6 points “Formula” insistence to come out of their loss atmosphere after losing to Al Dhafra in the last week, besides the defending champions Al Ain endeavor to continue their winning streak so as to stay with the leading teams especially they are currently classified as runners – up and are just one point behind leaders Al Nasr.

In the remaining encounters of the first day, third – placed Bani Yas with 9 points will face Dubai who are in the penultimate position with only one point, at the formers’  Stadium, kick off at 6:30pm. The hosts are aspiring to stay with the top teams while Dibba Al Fujairah are trying to better their image which they did not change since their promotion to the professional league, note that the club has terminated the work of their former Brazilian coach Cabo and signed UAE coach Dr. Abdullah Misfir. 

 

On the other hand, Kalba who are at the bottom of the ladder with no points, will face Al Ahli who are sitting in fifth place with a record of 7 points after defeating their neighbors Al Shabab in the last round.  The match will be held at Kalba Union Sports and Cultural Club Stadium at 6:20pm Kalba are playing their second game under the guidance of their new  Tunisian coach Lotfi Al Banzarti who lost his first week match 6 -1 to Al Nasr. Al Shabab who are in 11th spot with three points will take on Ajman who have collected a single point that put them in 12th position. The match will be played at Maktoum bin Rashid Stadium in Dubai at 9:00pm and it is considered a chance to correct the poor appearance of both teams in all four previous rounds.
